The Truth About Healing Before Growth: Why Self-Development Advice Might Not Work for You Yet

Explore the vast universe with this beautiful night sky filled with stars and galaxies.

I just thought I would dedicate this post to explaining exactly why I created this space and what it truly stands for.
During the months when I was feeling down, when I couldn’t even find the strength to get out of bed, I searched for comfort — for something, anything — that would make me feel less alone. We all do that, don’t we? We turn to the internet, to videos, quotes, and posts, because somehow knowing we’re not the only ones going through it makes things a little lighter.

And while I did find a lot of self-growth content — people sharing how they became the best versions of themselves, offering daily habits and self-improvement tips — it didn’t help me. Not really.

You see, self-growth becomes irrelevant when you’re still wounded.

Those tips? Some of them do work. There’s amazing content out there that can help you become more organized, positive, mindful, confident. But I didn’t need that. Not at that time. And maybe you don’t either — not yet.

Because here’s the truth no one tells you:

The “glow-up” is the easy part. The hard part is healing what made you dim in the first place.

Healing Before Growth — Always.

Dramatic capture of a powerful ocean wave with dark blue tones.

You might be watching reels that tell you to wake up at 5 AM, go to the gym, journal, meditate, eat clean, stop people-pleasing — and then you wonder:

“Why can’t I do it? Why does it feel so hard when others make it look so easy?”

It’s not because you’re lazy or inconsistent. It’s because you haven’t healed yet.

You haven’t come face-to-face with your past.

You haven’t looked inward and asked:

  • Where does it hurt?
  • Why do I self-sabotage?
  • What wound am I trying to distract myself from?

Without doing this inner work, all those tips become temporary fixes. They give you a high for a few weeks… maybe even a few months. But the moment real life hits you again — grief, conflict, failure — it crumbles.

You can’t fix something you haven’t fully acknowledged.

You can’t stop people-pleasing just because someone on Instagram told you to say “no” more often. If your people-pleasing stems from childhood trauma or fear of rejection, you need to address the wound first — not just the behavior.

Otherwise, every time you fall back into old patterns, you’ll feel worse…

Angrier. More hopeless. You’ll start resenting yourself, thinking you’re not strong enough.

But babe, it’s not about strength. It’s about healing.

THIS HIT A NERVE,DIDN’T IT?

That’s where your healing starts. Tell me your story – or just send a confession (something that’s been on your mind but you never dared to say out loud)

This Space Is for That Kind of Healing.

I’m not here to just give you surface-level tips.

I’m here to sit with you in the mess.

To be with you through the confusion, the anger, the relapses, the breakdowns.

Every other self-growth tool becomes 10x more powerful.

To help you uncover the rawest, deepest, most hidden parts of yourself.

To walk beside you as you break the cycles, cry through the pain, and slowly… start becoming whole.

Because once you do? Once you’ve truly healed?

You’ll no longer need constant motivation because your own inner voice will begin to guide you toward your highest self.

This Isn’t a One-Size-Fits-All Journey.

Healing looks different for everyone. What worked for me may not work for you. But through this space, I’ll share:

  • My own experiences with healing and growth
  • The emotional and psychological patterns I’ve witnessed in others
  • Tools that can help you identify your wounds
  • And ways to pair healing with self-love, so you can grow from a place of softness, not survival.

So no — this isn’t just another blog about “becoming your best self.”

This is a space where you can fall apart and still feel safe.

Where the real work begins — not with the glow-up, but with the roots.

Because when your roots are strong, nothing can break you again.
